As a member of the Irregular Choice stock room team you are expected to represent the brand and its ethos. Irregular Choice is know as a fun, bright and ‘quirky’ brand. It’s a little piece of fantasy that the customer can take away with them. This is what we want the customer to experience when they come to our stores. The atmosphere we create in our stores with the music, furnishings and product all work together to create a unique and fun experience.
The stock room is regarded as the heart of the store! If the stock room does not work then the rest of the store can not work. The role of the stock room assistant is to ensure the stock room is kept in a tidy and manageable order so that the sales assistants can find the stock in minimal time. Stock management as in deliveries and transfers are key tools to ensuring each store has the correct stock in store and that each store can do its forecast sales target.
Key Responsibilities:
© Ensuring that the stock room runs in numerical order by style number, following the company set standard. The stock room follows the set layout; like reading a book, starting at the top left going along in numerical order to the right hand side and working its way down the fixture.
© The stock room must be in size order to ensure that the shop floor staff are able to find the correct size for their customer in minimal time.
© To ensure that deliveries are processed following correct company procedure. Each item that arrives in a delivery must be scanned. This scan entry must then be uploaded to the till. It is a key responsibility that this is carried out correctly and perfectly with no mistakes!
© Transfers are a key tool to the company ensuring that each store has the correct stock to sell. It is vital that transfers are completed (in and out) correctly following the set transfer procedure.
© Filling out the weekly transfer sheet to help keep track of all transfers.
© Trinkets, bag and clothing have become an integral part of the business and therefore must be stored in the stock room in a tidy and organised manner that is easy for every member of the team to understand.
© Stock takes are an important tool to any business to ensure that each store is maximising on all sales. Your key responsibility is to ensure that stock take results are within the company set score of 0.25%
© Stock take variance reports are a good tool to help your achieve your 0.25% stock take result. By filling out the variance report correctly and truthfully you will help you achieve your stock take result.
© The stock room must be kept clean and tidy, this includes sweeping the floors of any rubbish and ensuring all litter is disposed of.
© At busy periods it may be required that the stock room team provide help to the store by working on the sales floor. This will only ever take place when it is vital and store management think absolutely necessary.
